What is ICMA?
The next International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators (ICMA) will take place in Copenhagen from 25-29 September 2017, hosted by the Danish Institute of Arbitration. The five-day Congress is expected to draw around 300 delegates to the Danish capital.
ICMA, which is held every 2 or 3 years, is an important forum for maritime arbitrators, lawyers and for the world wide shipping industry in which to deliberate on and exchange experience, views and news.
Aside from providing a forum for discussion and high quality papers, ICMA also includes a social program for accompanying persons and delegates. A black tie dinner is a tradition, as are one or two cocktail parties.
The final programme and speakers will be decided by the ICMA Topics Committee based on the papers received before 15 January 2016. For more information, read the Call for Papers.
